Functional characteristics
High-speed performance:
The 1746-BAS-T module has a higher operating speed than the 1746-BAS module, and existing programs written for the 1746-BAS module may need to be adjusted to take advantage of the faster speed to perform the same operation.
Hardware features:
Memory module: Use a different (optional) memory module, such as the 1771-DBMEM1 or -DBMEM2 memory module socket, for non-volatile storage of user programs.
Clock/Calendar: Battery powered 24-hour clock/calendar with a free running clock resolution of 5 ms.
Communication interface:
PRT1 and PRT2: Two isolated 9-pin type D serial ports that support RS-232/423, RS-422, and RS-485 communication. The PRT2 port can also provide DF1 full duplex or half duplex slave station protocols for SCADA applications.
DH485: An RJ-45 port that communicates over the DH485 network.
LED indicators: Multiple LED indicators for the operator interface.
SLC 500 backplane interface: Supports data read and write on the SLC 500 backplane.

Programming environment: Support for BASIC programming using Intel BASIC-52 language and enhancements.
Data processing: Support string operations, floating point operations and conversions, extensive call libraries, etc.
Network support: Supports DH485 network and DF1 protocol.
